The .CA team joins Startup Canada’s #EveryEntrepreneur Tour to help new businesses develop their digital brand

Startup Canada and the Canadian Internet Registration Authority (CIRA), stewards of the .CA domain are working to help new entrepreneurs get their business online as partners in Startup Canada’s nationwide #EveryEntrepreneur Tour.

“As many Canadian and international shoppers prefer to interact with .CA domains when browsing and making purchases online, a .CA is an important element of a business’ brand,” said Startup Canada CEO Victoria Lennox. “It is thanks to partners like CIRA that we can assist entrepreneurs develop this part of their brand to will help them excel in today’s digital economy.”

“An online presence has become table stakes for new entrepreneurs,” said David Fowler, director of marketing and communications at the Canadian Internet Registration Authority. “There is a huge opportunity for companies to sell online and find new markets through digital marketing and outreach.”

The #EveryEntrepreneur Tour will launch on Oct. 14 in Halifax, N.S., and land in six Canadian cities before wrapping up in Toronto, Ont. on Dec. 14. Similar to Startup Canada’s inaugural tour in 2012, which engaged 20,000 Canadians in the largest-ever consultation on entrepreneurship in Canadian history, the #EveryEntrepreneur Tour will provide on-site inspiration, mentorship and training to thousands of entrepreneurs to help cultivate the next generation of anchor companies across Canada.

Between keynote sessions with top Canadian entrepreneurs like Second Cup Co-Founder Frank O’Dea and Moxie Trades CEO Marissa McTasney, CIRA team members will be on-hand for one-on-one support, sit on relevant panels and connect entrepreneurs to domain resources at their exhibitor space during a day-long trade show.

CIRA staff will be on the ground at many of the tour stops, helping entrepreneurs find the right domain for their business. Discounts on .CA domains will be offered in partnership with Rebel.ca.
