OTTAWA, ON – March 6, 2024. The Startup Canada Board of Directors and Executive team are excited to announce that Jamie Savage will be taking over as the Interim CEO of Startup Canada, effective March 7, 2024. Jamie will be supporting the Startup Canada team over the next few months during current CEO Kayla Isabelle’s upcoming parental leave.

Jamie has been an active member of the Startup Canada Board of Directors since 2021, becoming Board Chair in October 2023. Jamie is also the Founder of The Leadership Agency, the executive recruitment partner of choice for North America’s fastest-growing startups and non-profits. As Founder of The Leadership Agency, Jamie brings a deep passion for and understanding of the Canadian startup and non-profit community.  The Leadership Agency gets to help build the most impressive companies of our generation. Some clients include: O2E, 1-800-GOT-JUNK?, SkiptheDishes, Afterpay, Headway, ATB Ventures, CNIB, and Eva’s Initiative. Coming from the corporate world, Jamie launched her firm in 2017 and has continued to grow it ever since, expanding into the US in just 18 months, opening an office in NYC, and earning multiple awards, such as Best Service Provider 2019 (HRD Canada), Best Professional Services 2020 (CanadianSME Business Magazine), and Best Workplaces for Startups 2023 (Great Place to Work). A disruptor in the HR and recruitment space, Jamie contributes her expertise to The Globe and Mail, CBC, Inc., and HRD Magazine, and she’s on the Forbes HR Council. Jamie is an angel investor, an Advisor, and a Board Chair.
