5 Things I’m looking forward to on Startup Day on the Hill 2017

With just over a week to go (and tickets selling fast) I’m getting terribly excited for this year’s Startup Day on the Hill.  With thousands attending and multiple stages there is something for everybody.  Whether you are an entrepreneur, investor or someone who serves either, this event is the place to be on Oct 19th.   With some much to do, here are the 5 things I’m most looking forward to:

  1. Hunting the Purple Cow.   To kick off the day, I will be leading a warm up session entitled Hunting the Purple Cow in which I will finally answer the age old question can you teach Entrepreneurship? Find out more: https://www.startupday.ca/mainstage
  2. Dragons Live.   Let’s face it, we all love Dragon’s Den.  At 2 pm I will be hosting the Demo Day on the Hill Pitch Competition featuring Bruce Croxon, Michele Romanow, Nicole Verkindt & Christoph Atz.  Find out more: https://www.startupday.ca/demoday
  3. Going up.  In addition to Demo Day, there will also be the Telus Elevator Pitch Competition featuring Dragon Arlene Dickinson awarding the winner $100,0000. Find out more:  https://www.startupday.ca/telus-pitch-elevator
  4. Scale up.    Most founders dream of getting to the point where they can scale up their startup.  But if you aren’t ready yet, or aren’t sure how to do this, Startup Day features a dozen speakers (including Rivers Corbett, Kelly Lovell & Dax Dasilva) on the Scale Up Stage.  Find out more:  https://www.startupday.ca/scale-up-stage
  5. 100 Steps 2 Startup.   For the last year. I’ve traveled across Canada meeting with more than 20 startup communities.  Two problems were flagged to me in each and every community: (1) the need for mentorship and practical content to start a startup & (2) the need for new revenue streams to support the community.   I’m proud to be showcasing my new program called 100 Steps 2 Startup™ and offering a huge discount for show attendees.  If you run a not-for-profit organization focused on Entrepreneurship, come by the 100 Steps 2 Startup™ booth to find out how you can leverage this program for your stakeholders.  Find out more: www.100Steps2Startup.com

There is so much to do and see and learn at Startup Demo Day this year, that really you simply must attend.

Hope so see you there.
